School Closure in response to COVID-19
Update 4/6:
Amazingly, three weeks have already disappeared. The longest 3 weeks any of us have ever experienced. We’ve all heard the beginning is the hardest, routines can help, and enjoy each moment of connection. However, this new reality is surreal. And challenging for us all, mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. Some have suffered more than others. Hopefully, everyone is staying safe and healthy.
Please reach out to us if you need specific support – we are monitoring the email and answering machine. Teachers will be sending out class letters soon. We miss you all very much.
Our hope is that our world will be recalibrated in important ways. Maria Shriver suggests that we accept a new challenge: the Daily Good. Each day find a way to do something for another. It need not be big. But let’s change the world as so many of our new heroes have: by caring for others in a way that makes a difference. It can be the little things that help us grow, together. 💞
Update 3/16:
Given the evolving data regarding cases of COVID-19 and out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of children and school staff, the Governor is ordering a 3-week suspension of school operations for educational purposes at all public and private elementary and secondary (K-12) schools in the Commonwealth (not including residential and day schools for special needs students), beginning Tuesday, March 17 and continuing until Monday, April 6.
Woodside will comply with this order.
Please follow us on Facebook for continuing updates from our staff.
Original Post 3/13:
To our Woodside Families:
Plymouth Public Schools has announced that they will be closed for the next two weeks, starting on Monday 3/16 through Friday, 3/27. Following these same State recommendations, Woodside will also be CLOSED during that time.
We recognize the challenges such a school closure can create, but will do our part to help protect those in our community. We will continue to remain connected throughout this time.
