Parent Discussion Group

Supporting Families

The Woodside Parenting Education and Support Program is based on small group discussions facilitated by Nancy Stearns, a Certified Parenting Educator, who creates agendas and shares information focusing on topics of interest as indicated by the groups.

Each meeting offers opportunities for discussion, and helps to develop understanding and parenting skills which can be integrated into daily lives. Hand-outs are based on relevant publications, articles, and current news concerning early childhood development and respectful parenting practice. Meetings also include a time for hospitality to help develop a peer support component based on shared family values and philosophies.

Discussion Groups are held several times each month. Parents are invited to participate anytime throughout the year, as often as they choose, to develop a parenting philosophy based on personal needs and values. Friends, family, and other members of the larger community are welcome to attend. Please call for dates and times and to confirm that space is available. There is no charge to attend.

Families interested in joining a discussion or in receiving more information should call Woodside at 508-830-3384.

Schedule of Upcoming Discussions

As parents are not currently allowed to enter the school building, we are suspending our in-person Discussion Groups for the time being. Please watch for future updates.
