2019 Annual Appeal: Imagine what next year could bring

Children building a roadway for zoo animal toys

Dear Woodside Friends,

We are amazed that we have already begun our 18th year together at Woodside!  We have continued to grow and become more established, thanks to our vested, hard-working teachers, and because of families who contribute their time and support.  We are pleased to provide opportunities for children and their families that include baby and toddler playgroups, early childhood and Kindergarten classes, a Summer Program, and a Parenting Education and Support Program.  We have been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), honoring the criteria of quality, requiring a curriculum focusing on all areas of children’s development.

We have been pleased to be able to continue to add to our resources and support for families.  We fund the Woodside Parenting Education & Support Program through our annual budget, so it can be free of charge to not only Woodside parents, but to all families in the larger community.

We depend on generous and ongoing contributions from Woodside families and friends, and a successful Golf Benefit to be able to keep tuition affordable and cover our increasing annual expenses.  Because of higher costs we also organized our Annual Trick or Trot 5K Walk/Run for families and friends.  These have been fun and successful events – which benefit many.

As always, our ongoing goals are to meet annual expenses while keeping tuition affordable.  We strive to provide respectful salaries, professional opportunities, and a meaningful benefit package for our dedicated and talented staff.  We need to have our teachers return each year and help us maintain the interactive, experiential learning environment so necessary for the children’s development.  We also need to be able to recruit new, talented teachers to expand our collaboration to meet the needs of our families.

We continue to be grateful for the contributions of so many of you, who help us in our work of caring for and educating children, and in supporting their families in this challenging world.

We ask that you consider Woodside as you make end-of-the year charitable donations.  Your contributions will benefit many in your local community, especially the children who remind us of what is truly important.

We extend our most sincere wishes for a holiday season that will bring your family closer together, with hope for peace throughout the world and for a bright future for all children.
